Over Military Children’s Charity’s first seven complete years of operation it has now distributed 1,397 Easter Baskets, 846 backpacks filled with school supplies, nearly 38,000 toys/ gifts, over 12,000 books and nearly 20,000 baby items. In total, over 93,000 gifts of appreciation have been distributed.
M.C.C. has no paid staff members, it is an all-volunteer organization. Military children across multiple branches of the U.S. Armed Forces were repeatedly reminded that Americans care about their sacrifices for their parent(s) to serve our nation.
MCC received multiple awards and recognitions from the military this year for our support acknowledging their military children.
During M.C.C.’s sixth fiscal year alone, our all-volunteer team collected and distributed 1,987 books, 1,588 toys/gifts, 51 backpacks, 2,653 school supplies and accessories, 271 baby shower gift items, 351 items of clothing, and two catered meals for an estimated 550 American Servicemember’s and their families at the holidays.
M.C.C. provided Easter baskets, backpacks, holiday gifts and birthday presents to 11 children who have lost a parent in service to our nation. M.C.C. hosted 3 large-scale events on behalf of the U.S. Armed Forces, including a base-wide baby shower at the JFTB Los Alamitos for the fourth consecutive year, a holiday event for an Army Aviation command and a holiday event for a large U.S. Marine Corps command. Also, M.C.C. supported additional other military family events.
The reality is that each year M.C.C. is receiving even less support for our American military children. Although the U.S. military’s operational tempo is not in the forefront of the public eye, it does exist. As volunteers of M.C.C., we witness firsthand how frequently our military members must deploy.
Please check back in the future for an update on the year 7 gift collection and distribution totals.
